hit and run

these words, they hit and run,
words that hit, and don’t sit
to see what happens next,
words that run, and miss out on the fun
and fear of judgement.

words that have no meaning,
so you make your own.
words that carry no feelings,
so you make your own.
words that don’t tell you who I am,
so you make your own
me

  1. i like this a lot, dude. =) and it reminds me of langston hughes.

i really like how the beginning part of each verse flows and flows, and then caps off with an abrupt ending line.

  2. thanks yasmine! looking up langston hughes right now.

anyone who wrote a book titled: “The Ways of White Folks” is a-okay in my books. =P

  3. very good one.

although, i could always be attaching my own meaning to this unlike the one you meant. 😉

PS i think this poem, if true (literally), should not have comments open. they would have posted and ran.

  5. hmmm…

the words I mention in the lines aren’t the words in the lines themselves. in fact, these lines aren’t really about written words.

if anything, the written words are the least hit and run.

    =)
